International Association of Majorette-Sport, Iam

„The IAM – where the beauty of dance and the spirit of sport unite”

IAM is a non-profit organisation aimed at supporting various forms of dance in majorette- sport at international level.
IAM was formed 15 years ago by the leaders of the majorette associations of the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. In response to the challenges of the age, in 2009 new members started to join: Ukraine, Russia, Serbia, Monte Negro and Bulgaria. All they have come together to create a body that would represent needs and expectations of  majorette- dancers and clubs tired of ‘fossilized rules’
Ensuring development of the sport, twirling with baton, elements of artistic gymnastic, batonflag- as new equipment and show category have been incorporated in period 2008- 2011. Democratic division of responsibilities set up the committee – work, started in 2011. Annually Adjudicators' Committee and Competitors’ Committee of IAM meet to discuss and decided the path of advancement.
Each year European Championship of Majorette-Sport and seven times European Grand Prix was held in different towns of member-countries. Newest event ( first in 2016) is Merry Majorette International Cup with new disciplines- all with equipments of representing majorette-sport- Baby cadets, Cheerdance pompon, free twirl, traditional majorette.
In January 2013 General Assembly of International Majorettsport Association (IMA) elected new President, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Greece South Africa and Austria applied for membership. In 2014 Romanian, Brittish, and Italian teams applied.
Our strong focus on dancers and their rights, our passion towards dance and young people, our belief in the power of dance to change the world and promote solidarity have fast become recognised and valued, with many countries and organisations joining in.
Year after year the IAM's Assembly have been expanding; year after year the IAM have been welcoming new member countries.
In 2014 we changed our logo with new phrases. The International Association of Majorette-Sport "Iam" and all its members have won! The hard work has paid off! They have won a chance to be a part of an exceptional multicultural family that through its extraordinary activities promotes talent, creativity and integration and helps to create a better future for young people.

„New look, new design, tradition- based up to date knowledge- Iam“

Full of positive energy, expectantly look forward to the tasks ahead.

IAM invites all those associations of majorette groups who are able and willing to work hard and co-operate.
